Care Instructions for Real Christmas
Trees
-
Always use a tree stand with a water container.
-
Cut three quarters of an inch off the bottom of the tree trunk before taking the tree inside or putting it in the stand. This step is absolutely necessary. The sap in the tree dries and seals the trunk within hours of harvesting. If the tree isn't cut prior to setting up, it will never take water.
-
The tree trunk must continuously be kept in water. If the bottom of
the trunk is exposed to air for more than a few hours, the sap will dry and
reseal the trunk.
-
Your tree should be located away from the direct flow of any heat
source.
-
Never place candles or other open flames near the tree.
-
If you have an E-Z tree stand, check the nut on the bottom of the
water container to be sure it is tight.
